SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

CIVIC ENGINEERS

I grew up in Quebec, a French-speaking province of Canada. I've always been curious about the natural world, enjoying its beauty and the equilibrium in which it exists. I liked maths and science at school and chose to study water engineering at university.

I found a job in the construction industry because I like the challenges that design work brings and because the industry has a huge impact on climate change which gives me purpose in my day-to-day work. I like adventure-style holidays, my last one consisted in travelling around Namibia in a 4x4 with a tent on top.

My key skills are listening and ingenuity. I believe the key challenges for women in the construction industry is to be taken seriously by some men who are not used to having female leaders.

My advice to someone wanting to join or change the industry would be to be confident and not let comments from ignorant people affect them.
